Setting Fixed Station Latitude & Longitude

This information is used to predict sun and moon rise and set times and might be required by services your weather information is sent to.

  1. On the Setup menu, click Sun/Moon Rise/Set.
  2. Enter Latitude and Longitude data. (Note: There is a link on the APRS setup page where you can get your latitude and longitude if you have difficulty determining it on a map.) Make sure you enter a negative number for southern hemisphere latitudes and if you are west of GMT (UK/England), like in the United States, then enter a negative number for the longitude. A setting sun or a rising sun appears.

Setting Fixed Station Elevation

This information is used to predict cloud heights and might be required by services your weather information is sent to.

  1. One the Setup menu, click Display Units Options / Reset times.
  2. In the Other Options section, enter your weather station's height above sea level (in feet).

Tracking a moving Station using GPS

This provides a way for mobile weather stations (e.g., storm chasers, fishermen, etc.) to report weather together with their current location.

  1. On the Setup menu, click GPS Data capture.
  2. Click the Com port settings tab.
  3. Select settings for you GPS receiver. 4800,8N1 are the normal settings for NMEA receivers.

  5. Turn the green switch on, and then click the START button.

NMEA GPS should be flashing in the status.

Click the Satellites or NMEA GPS tab to see results.
