A native of the Charlotte, North Carolina suburb of Gastonia, Bruce worked in radio and television in the Charlotte and Little Rock, Arkansas markets for 11 years. Bruce is a graduate of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina with a Bachelor's degree in Communications.

In 1991, he moved to Seattle and began working in the Puget Sound high-tech sector at Egghead Software, Arabesque Software, NetManage, Design Intelligence, and Acumen Associates. Bruce holds certifications as a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Microsoft Certified Application Spec-alist (MCAS). As a technical communications professional with more than 14 years technical writing experience, Bruce has produced manuals, online assistance content, videos, training, press releases, and marketing materials. Bruce is employed by Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, Washington and produces help content for Microsoft Outlook.

An avid technology geek, when not held captive by TiVo HD, Bruce's hobbies include computers, Xbox 360, digital photography, cycling, and genealogy.
